China's medical device exports to the Middle East reached $3.48B in 2025

China's medical device trade with the Middle East is becoming a useful signal for anyone following China-Middle East business links. According to WAM/Xinhua reporting, China's medical device exports to Middle Eastern countries reached US$3.484 billion in 2025. Medical consumables remained the largest category, accounting for more than 43% of the total, with about US$1.513 billion in exports and 8.62% year-on-year growth.

The bigger picture also matters. China's medical equipment exports reached over 9,000 medical institutions in more than 190 countries and regions last year, while China's medical equipment market expanded 60.5% from 2021 to 2025 and reached about US$208 billion in 2025. Reported 2025 exports of medical equipment totaled US$45.8 billion, up 62.4% compared with 2019.

For the Middle East specifically, H1 2025 data showed continued demand: China's medical device exports to the region reached US$950 million, up 7.3% year on year. Saudi Arabia and the UAE were highlighted among the major destinations, while Israel, Jordan, and Oman reportedly saw double-digit growth.

Why this is interesting: the story is not only about low-cost consumables. Chinese manufacturers are also moving into higher-value categories such as diagnostic and treatment equipment, endoscopes, surgical robots, dialysis equipment, and advanced imaging. That could mean more cooperation in hospital procurement, medical exhibitions, localized service networks, and health-sector business travel between China and Middle Eastern countries.
